Misdemeanor charges filed after dogs thrown off Alabama bridge because animals were not hurt

Two individuals have been arrested and charged for allegedly throwing two dogs off Dog River Bridge on Dec. 30.

Tavoris Gallery, 18, and Mary Rivers 71, were arrested and charged with animal cruelty on Wednesday according to jail records. According to the Mobile Police Department, investigators were in the area of Club House Road and Alba Club Road when they identified a Black SUV.

The vehicle matched the description of one seen at the time the dogs were thrown off the bridge.

“While officers were in the area, a vehicle matching the description of the subject’s vehicle in question, was observed traveling on Club House Road,” the department said. “A traffic stop was initiated for the vehicle traveling at a higher rate of speed and two subjects were detained.”

“Due to the dogs not sustaining any injuries, both subjects will be charged with two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty.”

After being thrown into the river from the 73-foot bridge, the dogs were rescued by officials with MPD and the Daphne Search and Rescue team along with assistance from a witness, D.J. Perryman.

According to Fox10 News, the two puppies are currently at a dog shelter being cared for and have received numerous inquiries from people to adopt them.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
