Miranda Lambert Shares Sweet Tributes After Saying Goodbye To Two Dogs, Louise And Delta Dawn

A tough month or so for Miranda Lambert.

Yesterday and today, she shared the unfortunate news that over the last six weeks, she has sadly had to say goodbye to two of her beloved dogs, Louise and Delta Dawn.

Miranda is a huge advocate for rescuing animals of any kind, and has an entire charity dedicated to furthering that mission called MuttNation, which is a cause very near and dear to her heart.

She rescued Louise and her sister Thelma (who passed away last year) in 2016, and Miranda recalled some of the special memories they’ve had on her farm in Tennessee together over the last eight years.

A beautiful Pyrenees, you can see some photos of Miranda and Louise, as well as read her sweet tribute, in the post below:

Her other dog Delta Dawn was rescued at a Sonic in Oklahoma in the spring of 2009. Miranda recalled finding her “homeless and hungry” but still “full of personality.”

She says she opened her car door and Delta jumped in, saying that while she was just trying to get a cherry limeade, “I would meet one of the most amazing dogs I would ever know.” Miranda had Delta for 16 years, and she went on almost every tour Miranda’s ever done.

Miranda also encouraged others who might be looking to get a dog to adopt one from a shelter:

“I want y’all to know that I’m an advocate for rescue because I live it out and everyday I am blessed with the joy of having these animals in my life. And then some days, like today, I’m so heartbroken to have lost them. To love this big you have to hurt just as big. They are worth it.

Shelters all over the country are suffering from overcrowdedness so this is my heart song to you. Consider a rescue or fostering or volunteering . You never know what blessing is waiting there for you.”

I’m sure a lot of us know the pain of losing a pet, and really, it just freaking sucks… and losing two so close together in the span of six weeks is even worse, so I’m sure it’s been a really hard month or so for Miranda.

You can see her entire tribute to Delta Dawn below.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
