Merced Co. animals get second chance as 169 cats & 82 dogs flown to rescues across states

Hundreds of dogs and cats from Merced County now have a second chance at finding a forever home.

That’s after they were flown out to rescues in different parts of the state who took them in; Montana, Washington, and British Columbia.

All thanks to New Beginnings for Merced County Animals, who partner up with passionate animal rescues from all around the state to make it happen.

It is showing how far compassion flies when passionate animal rescues work together.

Sharon Lohman, the founder of the local non-profit says, they have to go as far as flying animals out because of valley animal shelters and rescues are overcapacity.

Something, FOX26 has reported time and time again before.

According to Lohman, a total of 169 cats and 82 dogs were saved from the county shelter and were transported.

It took pilots two trips.

One unforgettable mission that proved what’s possible when compassion leads the way.

This story is developing and will be updated.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
