ZANESVILLE, OH – This week the K-9 Adoption Center has not one, but two Dogs of the Week.
Meet Bucky and Fawn! Bucky and Fawn are both two year-old, spayed and neutered, and are trying to find their forever family together.
Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer at the Adoption Center, says this bonded pair came to the Center because they were abandoned on a backroad.
“They are very friendly, they walk together, we found out that they are very bonded.” McQuaid said. “They do good with each other, very friendly, very affectionate as you can tell, seem to calm down once they’re together.”
McQuaid said because of Bucky and Fawn’s age and small stature, they behave like puppies.
He says their ideal home would be a calm environment where the family will be able to work with them.
“You got to take into consideration they’re somewhat still like a pup.” McQuaid said. “And again, we talk about this a lot, it takes a lot of time, patience, effort, to get them where they need to be. When you’re walking, and them being bonded, we actually walk them together, we have a Y leash, and you just want to be careful with that when they’re walking in front of you.”
McQuaid says there is also still dog food available; if you are in need just contact the Adoption Center and they’ll get it for you.
