Meet NorthJersey.com’s adoptable pets of the week for June 14!
Each week, NorthJersey.com would like to highlight adoptable animals from local shelters and rescues.
If you foster, work at, or volunteer with a North Jersey animal shelter or rescue and know of some animals who are in need of a loving fur-ever home, please send a photo, description, and adoption information to amwallace@gannett.com to have your adoptable pet featured in the next edition.
This week we are featuring Hazel and Eamon from Pawsitively Furever Dog Rescue in Hackensack.
Hazel
Hazel is a 2-year-old pit bull mix. She has been in foster care for almost a year and is the last longtime resident at Pawsitively Furever. Hazel’s previous owners had to part ways with her due to housing restrictions and she is ready to find her new home.
Having previously been adopted, her exuberance and protective instincts have overshadowed her affectionate nature, but during her time in foster care with two canine companions she has found solace and guidance. She is overflowing with energy and has a love for treats. Through her foster parents’ patient guidance, she has mastered commands like sit, paw, and wait, and shows a willingness to learn more each day.
While she is good with many people, Hazel is partial to men. They are her favorite people on the planet. Regardless, she loves being with her people and will follow you and sit with you in whatever room you are in just to be with you.
Hazel is looking for strong, supportive owners who will continue her training journey and reciprocate her unwavering loyalty. With the right guidance and love, she is sure to grow into a wonderful companion for years to come.
If you are interested in Hazel, please fill out an adoption application on the rescue’s website at pawsitivelyfurever.org.
Eamon
Coming in at 16 pounds and 13 weeks is Eamon. She is an unknown mix, potentially including some lab, shepherd, and heeler.
Eamon was rescued from animal control with her siblings. She has been posted on Pawsitively Furever’s website for two weeks now and has not received a single application. She is the last puppy from the transport without any applications and has watched all of her siblings either get adopted or have a meet and greet with potential adopters.
Eamon is very active and determined and she can be very vocal. She loves water whether it be from a hose, in a pool or a dish. She is very toy motivated and is good with kids and other dogs.
If you are interested in Eamon, please fill out an adoption application on the rescue’s website at pawsitivelyfurever.org.
