Meet the black dogs of Mohave County Animal Shelter ready for adoption

National Black Dog Day is Oct. 1 — a day of appreciation dedicated to all of the black dogs waiting for their furever homes. In shelters, these dogs are often passed over, especially in favor of puppies, who tend to be adopted much faster.

As of Sept. 26., the Mohave County Animal Shelter had taken in over 2,100 dogs so far this year, with 700 of them being puppies. This has left many dogs still without a permanent family.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
