Meet Ruby, the furry face of the High Point Rockers

Fans of the High Point Rockers will get to meet a new furry friend this season. Ruby the Rocker Dog is a recent addition to the roster, but her cute face and unlikely journey are already inspiring those who meet her.Wherever she goes, the 6-month-old pup brings a smile to the faces of everyone who enters Truist Point Stadium. Playing fetch on the green turf of a baseball field might be every dog’s dream.”She’s just a happy dog,” High Point Rockers President Pete Fisch said. “She’s very fortunate on her journey.”Fisch is also Ruby’s owner, but he says she’s really the team’s dog.”When everybody’s having a bad day, they’ll spend some Ruby time, and they’ll play ball with her,” he said. “Or, she’ll sleep under your desk or just really hang out with you, and it’s helped our whole staff.”Ruby has had her fair share of bad days. She was born in the summer of 2024 and spent her early days in a Western North Carolina animal shelter. When Hurricane Helene hit, she and hundreds of other dogs were rescued by BISSELL Pet Foundation. Ruby was ultimately airlifted to the Forsyth Humane Society.
