Meet Panda, John’s best friend; service dogs featured at Kendall County Fair

This is a love story between John and his dog named Panda.

Panda is a big furry St. Bernard Poodle mix, weighing in at 110 pounds at only eight months old, later tilting the scales at 160 full-grown.

It’s hard to tell which is the companion, Panda or his human pal John.

Now Panda just passed his most difficult task.

John’s mother Donna describes the relationship.

Usually at two months of age, the dogs arrive for their training.

Blair Peters of Sugar Grove is a trainer.

Here are the opportunities to help this Hinckley-based organization.

Easier commands include heel, sit, stay, down, leave it, however, these dogs are still in training for the rest of their lives. Service dogs are being used by people with PTSD, kids with autism, or psychiatric challenges. Future owners have to have an ADA disability and need two tasks they cannot do for themselves.

In conclusion, there is this heartwarming story.

At the Kendall County Fair Saturday and Sunday, you can stop by the booth, pay $1 to pet Hawk or Maui or Panda to your heart’s delight, the proceeds helping to provide service dogs for veterans at no cost.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
