PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a severe case of animal cruelty and torture at a residence in the 9000 block of Woodville Road in West Paducah.

On March 31, 2025, authorities executed a search warrant at the home, where 66-year-old David Howery was reportedly found. Eighteen dogs were discovered living in deplorable conditions, with one requiring euthanization due to its poor state.

The home was found to be infested with fleas and rodents, and the animals were in need of serious medical care. A total of 32 dogs are victims in this case, all of which have been removed from the home and taken to the McCracken County Humane Society.

Howery is actively being sought by law enforcement. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

The McCracken County Humane Society is in need of supplies to care for the animals, including:

Sheets
Blankets
Towels
Blue Dawn dish soap
Wet and dry dog food
Gallon jugs of water
Paper towels
Financial donations

Donations can be made to the McCracken County Humane Society or Cummings Veterinary Clinic for medical bills.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
