MCAS offers $10 dog adoptions as Code Red overcrowding emergency continues

PRINCETON, W.Va. (WVVA) – As The Mercer County Animal Shelter remains in Code Red, they are now offering $10 adoption fees for larger dogs.

According to a Facebook post, the shelter “had to do a case” yesterday where 25 dogs were taken into their care. That incident is forcing an already overcrowded shelter to in a near-impossible situation where the only solution is pet adoption if they want to avoid euthanizing animals.

“ If we do not get some runs, then we would be forced to have to euthanize. We’ve been able to avoid it all year, but I’ve been in code red for several months now, and it’s to the point now that I have nowhere else to put anything,” said Stacy Harman, Mercer County Animal Shelter Director in a recent interview.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
