Massachusetts State Police seeking owner of malnourished dog found at Blue Hills Reservation

Police are trying to find out who’s the owner of a malnourished dog that was found alone at Blue Hills Reservation.

A Good Samaritan early on Monday reportedly dropped off the young female pit mix at the Massachusetts State Police Milton barracks.

The person had spotted the dog near the roadway inside Blue Hills Reservation and stopped. When they opened the door to their car, the dog jumped in.

“Troopers Timothy Racine and Austin Rose took care of the young pup,” State Police wrote. “She has some basic obedience training and knows ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands. The dog appeared to be malnourished and was starving for attention, it is unknown how long this sweet lady has been on her own.

“The Troopers went out and purchased dog food and entertained her, and for a few hours she served as the SP-Milton mascot,” MSP added.

Milton Animal Control then took custody of the dog.

Police are urging people who recognize the dog to reach out to Milton Animal Control at 617-698-0455.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
