INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus North opened its softball season Monday with a 4-3 loss at Living Water HomeSchool.
The Bull Dogs took an early lead with three runs in the top of the first, but the Marlins scored single runs in the first, third, fourth and seventh to claim the victory.
Summer Williams went 2 for 3 with a double, and Payton Morris went 2 for 3 for North. Morgan Jarvis and Lily Retz each had a double.
Bailee Scruggs and Morris combined on a six-hitter with nine strikeouts and six walks.
