Marlboro County Humane Society Vice President Jennifer Hyduke and Marlboro County Animal Shelter Director Ashley Patterson said they’re in desperate help to fix their transport van.
It broke down last weekend in Virginia on the way back from taking dogs to a rescue group there.
Hyduke said a community member volunteered to go pick up the van.
The organization has a similar van, but it doesn’t have air conditioning at this time.
Patterson could cost more than one thousand dollars to fix the van and they just don’t have the money.
They say expenses are all tied to housing, feeding, and taking care of the animals at the shelter.
They’re begging for the public’s help.
It’s the only way we do what we do. If we don’t have the van to move the dogs,” said Hyduke. “We couldn’t get more off the streets of Marlboro County. So, it’s our lifeline.
The volunteers say whatever you can do to help, they’re appreciative.
Patterson said no amount is too big or small.
