Man Who Spent £11,000 to Become a Dog Now Opens a “Human Zoo” Where Humans Can Become Animals

The world thought Toco, the Japanese man who transformed himself into a realistic collie, had reached peak weirdness. But now, he’s outdone himself. Buckle up—because he’s just opened a human zoo, where people can pay to experience life as an animal.

From Furry Fantasy to Full-Blown “Zoo”

Remember Toco? The guy who dropped £11,000 on a custom-made border collie costume just so he could live as a dog? He walked on all fours, wagged his tail, and even learned how to roll over for treats. The internet was shocked, amused, and slightly terrified by his commitment.

But that was just the beginning. Now, he’s turned his passion into a full-scale business, launching Tocotoco Zoo, a place where other people can live out their animal dreams—for a price.

Pay to Become a Dog (Seriously)

Located in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, Tocotoco Zoo opened its doors on January 26, 2024. But unlike traditional zoos, this one doesn’t have enclosures filled with lions or elephants. Here, the visitors ARE the animals.

For ¥49,000 (about £250), guests can slip into a hyper-realistic Alaskan Malamute suit and live as a dog for three hours. There’s even a 10% discount if you can’t open or close the dog’s mouth, because apparently, jaw articulation is part of the immersion.

And before you ask—yes, there are rules. The experience is only available to people between 4’11 and 5’11, ensuring the costume fits properly. So if you’re too tall? Too bad. No dog life for you.

A Childhood Dream or a Bizarre Spectacle?

Toco insists this isn’t some publicity stunt—this is his life’s passion. In a YouTube video, he explained:

“I dreamed about becoming an animal since I was a child, and when I grew up, my dream came true in the form of a costume!”

And now, he wants others to experience the same joy. But let’s be real—this is next-level bizarre. Imagine walking through Tocotoco Zoo, seeing what looks like a realistic gorilla pounding its chest… only for it to take off its head and ask a staff member for a soda.

What’s Next? More Animals, More Madness

Right now, the zoo only offers dog experiences, but Toco isn’t stopping there. He has plans to introduce pandas, but not cats or foxes, because according to him, they’re “too small for humans to try.”

Reservations need to be made 30 days in advance, and group dog sessions are available, so you and your friends can celebrate your birthday rolling around on the floor like a pack of realistic canines.

So, if you ever wanted to escape your human existence and experience life as an animal, Tocotoco Zoo is waiting. The only question is: who’s barking mad—the visitors, or the guy running it?

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
