A dog dad is in the dog house with his new girlfriend because he lets his French bulldog sleep in the bed, which she would prefer not to happen.
The boyfriend, who calls the pet his “fur baby,” detailed on the U.K.-based forum Mumsnet why they haven’t slept at each other’s places yet and why she is accusing him of putting the dog’s needs ahead of hers.
“I live with my little French bulldog who is my absolute world,” the man wrote of his 6-year-old dog. “From a puppy he’s always slept on my bed and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“So I met a girl,” he continued. “We get on great but unfortunately she thinks dogs shouldn’t be allowed on the furniture or sleep on the bed.”

Admitting that he “can’t see this relationship going anywhere,” he confessed that he’ll “always put my dog before any relationship.”
“We haven’t spent a night together as I won’t leave my dog to stay at hers and she won’t sleep at mine because my dog sleeps with me,” he added, before asking the Mumsnet forum, “Am I being unreasonable?”

The sleeping arrangement post incited mixed reactions.
“Furniture is for humans. Never seen a hyena on a sofa. If dogs needed furniture they’d have invented it,” one reader commented, while another wrote, “She is right. Shut your pet in the kitchen/downstairs overnight.”
Pet lovers, like him, reassured him that he was being reasonable.
“I wouldn’t be upsetting my pet for a new relationship tbh,” a Mumsnet user replied, as another person wrote, “Simply put, you’re not compatible.”
