Man killed in Thurston County dog training gone wrong

Thurston County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a man who had been shot during working dog training exercises Tuesday.

Upon arrival, fire department personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The victim was a man in his 20s from Lewis County.

A group had been conducting working dog training exercises, which included the filming of training videos involving gunfire.

One of the handlers, a man from Rochester, had a live round in his weapon. When fired, a bullet struck and killed the victim. Police arrested him for manslaughter and booked him in the Thurston County Jail.

“This is a devastating and heartbreaking event,” the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office stated. “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. The emotional toll on everyone involved is significant, and we recognize the deep pain caused by this loss.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
