Man killed by dogs outside Upstate NY home, police say

A man is dead after being attacked by multiple dogs outside an Upstate New York home, according to police.

The Albany Police Department said a man was killed by several dogs on the 500 block of Central Avenue in Albany on Wednesday night. Cops arriving on the scene observed the dogs fatally attacking the man, prompting one officer to fire his gun, striking at least one dog.

According to WRGB, graphic cell phone videos taken by witnesses showed the man being mauled by several dogs before collapsing around 6 p.m. The dogs continued to attack him as they dragged him across the yard, video showed.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until proper notifications are made, News 10 reported.

The Times Union reports all of the dogs, mostly pit bulls, have been accounted for and are being placed “in an appropriate homing facility” by the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.

It’s unclear if the dogs’ owner will face charges. Police have not said how many dogs were at the owner’s home or what the victim was doing when the dogs attacked.

An investigation is ongoing.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
