
A man is facing charges after investigators said he allowed his dog to attack a Cincinnati police officer last month.Police said it happened on March 29, around 1 a.m., when officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Craft Street for a report of shots fired.A woman at the scene alleged that Darryl Stowers, 26, hit her with a gun, causing injuries to her ear.When two officers attempted to detain Stowers, investigators said he ran inside the house, where three dogs were.That’s when a Cincinnati police officer was bit on the calf by one of the dogs. Stowers has now been indicted on one count of felonious assault for the attack. He’s also been charged with misdemeanor assault and resisting arrest.“The officers responded to a woman who needed help,” said Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich. “We’re thankful that the officer was not more seriously hurt. It is unacceptable this officer was attacked while trying to protect citizens.”
