Man hospitalized after dog attack in Greenwood County; three dogs euthanized

A man was seriously injured in a dog attack Wednesday evening in Greenwood County, prompting authorities to seize and euthanize several dogs believed to be involved.

According to the incident reports, Greenwood County deputies were dispatched about 4:30 p.m. March 19 to a residence at 3412 Old Highway 246 South in reference to a reported dog bite. When deputies arrived, they learned the victim had already been taken to a hospital by EMS. Authorities later confirmed he was flown to Augusta for treatment because of the severity of his injuries.
