Police arrested a man they say stabbed his own dog after playful roughhousing turned into real bloodshed for both man and beast.
Akeem Noray, 34, was play fighting with his dog — a pit bull mix named Bowser — in the southeast corner of Prospect Park around 7 p.m. on Wednesday when the dog started biting him in the face and hands, cops said. Noray then stabbed the dog two times in the neck and the chest, according to police.
Officers responding to a 911 call for help arrested Noray, who is charged with cruelty to animals, police said. Police said they recovered a knife at the scene.
An officer who responded to the call took the dog to a local animal hospital. It’s expected to survive.
On Thursday, Noray was at Kings County Hospital being treated for his wounds, according to a Brooklyn Criminal Court employee. He sustained lacerations to his face and hands, a police source said. Noray has since been released without bail. His next court date is July 30.
On Tuesday cops received a 911 call that a pit bull-mix puppy had chewed off the face of a 6-month-old baby girl, killing her. The Medical Examiner later determined that the babe had died of natural causes and that all injuries to her face were inflicted after she had died.
