Lynchburg dogs Leland and Melvin rescued from sticky situation thanks to community help

A dog was successfully rescued after getting himself into a jam. Police say his buddy never left his side.

The Lynchburg Police Department posted to Facebook about two dogs, Leland and Melvin, named after Lynchburg astronaut Leland Melvin. “Leland recently ran into a bit of a jam—or should we say jug? He got his head stuck in one, and through it all, Melvin stayed right by his side, refusing to leave his buddy behind,” said LPD.

Police say that with help from Lake Forest Animal Hospital, Animal Control and the Lynchburg Humane Society, Leland is now jug-free.

“Now these two are healthy, happy, and back on track,” said LPD. “Jug-free and ready to take on the world together!”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
