TOLEDO, Ohio — Lucas County Canine Care and Control announced it will be closed Friday after two dogs were stolen in an overnight break-in at its central Toledo facility.

LC4, located at 410 S. Erie Street, said they are working closely with the Toledo Police Department’s investigation.

According to court documents, Maurice Carter, 43, of Toledo, is accused of breaking out a window to the facility and then taking two dogs from the location once inside. A warrant is out for his arrest.

“Staff will be on site to care for the dogs and officers will continue to provide services in the field. If there is an emergency that requires LC4’s assistance, please call 419-213-2800,” LC4 said in a press release Friday morning.

The facility said due to the closure, it will be extending the three-day stray hold period by one day. LC4 said they anticipate the facility will resume normal operations on Saturday.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
