Louisville man accused of being ‘prolific’ dog fighter arrested

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man accused of running a dog fighting ring has been arrested by Louisville Metro police.

LMPD said their Animal Cruelty Enforcement Unit was recently tipped off about the man and his Louisville dog fighting ring.

According to police, Kareem Garner, 47, is considered ‘prolific’ in the dog fighting world and is particularly well known in the region, operating his dog fighting ring for a long time.

Earlier this June, police executed a search warrant at Garner’s house in the 1300 block of Lillian Avenue. They said they found four dugs living in feces-infested kennels or trapped in leg-high mud. Several of the dogs had heartworms. Officers also found dog fighting paperwork, weighted collars, carpet mills, scales, weighted collars, spring poles, supplements and medications, and ‘other evidence indictive of dog fighting.

Garner has been charged with four counts of dog fighting and four counts of animal cruelty. He’s set to appear in court July 12.

All four dogs have been taken to Louisville Metro Animal Services where they are getting cared for.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
