Looking for an Easter egg hunt? Here’s a sampling in York County for kids of all ages

With Easter just a few weeks away, it’s time to think about egg hunts.

Whether it’s a traditional one for children or an adult-themed one at night, organizations and businesses around York County are planning the springtime events in the coming weeks. Some are free while others require a fee.

Here’s a sampling of the egg hunts happening in the area:

Easter Eggscape

When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5

Where: York County School of Technology, 2179 S. Queen St.

What to know: The event for children is sold out, but tickets remain for an adult egg hunt. The cost is $15 for ages 13 and older. Vendors and crafters will be selling goods from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a variety of food trucks will be present. Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company Food Truck Friday and Easter Egg Hunt

When: 6 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025 during Food Truck Friday

Where: Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company, 21 W. Forrest Ave.

What to know: The fire company will be hosting its Food Truck Friday event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The egg hunt is for children up to the age of 12. To register for the egg hunt, visit the department’s Facebook page.

Doggie Egg Hunt

When: 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 12, 2025

Where: Marge Goodfellow Community Park, 1 Playground Alley, New Freedom

What to know: Animal Rescue Inc. is hosting the event, which will feature 5,000 treat-filled plastic eggs, photos with the Easter Bunny and more. The cost is $12 per dog during pre-registration and $15 per dog the day of the event. To register, visit the event page on Facebook.

Spring Grove branch of the YMCA Easter Egg Hunts

When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12

Where: Various parks in the area

What to know: It is a free event. Special events, such as “Touch a Truck” with Friendship Hose Company No. 1 and K-9 Tango with the York County Regional Police Department, are planned at the Spring Grove Community Park.

Here are the list of times and locations:

  • 9 a.m.: Heritage Rail Trail, 101 Church Street, Seven Valleys borough
  • 10 a.m.: Farmers Field Park, 3074 Church Road in Paradise Township
  • 11 a.m.: Little Creek Community Park, 1657 Route 116, Jackson Township
  • Noon: Spring Grove Community Park, 210 E. Railroad St., Spring Grove borough (This will include special guest Tank
  • 12:30 p.m.: Doggie egg hunt at the Spring Grove Community Dog Park and pet photos with the Easter Bunny will be available from noon to 1 p.m. The cost is $5 each.

York Township Egg Hunts

When: Noon through evening on Saturday, April 12

Where: York Township Park, 25 Oak Street

What to know: The event will be held rain or shine. Youth egg hunts are for children 11 and under and are broken down by age group. The township also will host one for teens in grades seven through twelve as well as one for adults. Tickets must be purchased for the egg hunts. Easter Egg Hunt at the Farm

When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 13

Where: Wyndridge Farm, 885 South Pleasant Avenue, York Township

What to know: The event is free and includes photos with the Easter Bunny and face painting. The egg hunt starts promptly at 11 a.m., according to the website. The egg hunt is open to children ages 2 to 10, and the youth will be split into two age groups. To RSVP, visit wyndridge.com.

Adult Easter Egg Hunt

When: 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday, April 18

Where: The Valley Tavern, 1 Cherry Street, Seven Valleys

What to know: Adults can start signing up at 8:30 p.m., according to the website. Phipps & Phriends will perform that night. For more information, visit the tavern’s Facebook page.

Adult Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

When: 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025

Where: Brookside Park, 4054 Fox Run Road, Dover Township

What to know: This event, hosted by Dover Township Recreation, is for adults 18 and older. The cost is $5 for residents and $7 for non-residents. Registration is required. For more information, visit Dover Township’s Facebook page.

Easter Egg Hunt in York

When: Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19

Where: Kiwanis Lake, North Newberry Street in York

What to know: The City of York Parks and Recreation is marking its 50th annual egg hunt this year. A sensory-friendly hunt will be held from noon to 12:45 p.m. in partnership with Autism York. The general admission hunt will be held from 1 to 3 p.m.

Bunny Fest

When: Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19

What to know: The egg hunts are for children from birth to 18 years of age as well as dogs. It includes a sensory-friendly hunt. Participants must register in advance. The cost is $5 for residents and $7 for non-residents. For more information, visit Dover Township’s Facebook page.

Easter Egg Hunt in New Freedom

When: 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19

Where: 200 E. Main St., New Freedom

What to know: The Rose Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary is hosting the community egg hunt for children ages 2 to 12. Treats will be available for purchase at the event. For more information, visit the auxiliary’s Facebook page.

Easter Apple Hunt

When: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19

Where: Flinchbaugh’s Orchard and Farm Market, 110 Ducktown Road, Hellam Township

What to know: Children will be able to hunt for apples on the farm. The timed hunts will be held at the top of the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and tickets are required. The event also includes a visit with the Easter Bunny, photo opportunities, magic shows and unique balloon creations. For more information and to register, visit flinchbaughsorchard.com.
