Local dog wins big at Westminster Dog Show

NEW YORK, NY (WTVG) – A local dog and its human won big at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this week.

Comet, a Shih Tzu, was the winner of the Toy Group. The 4-year-old dog took center stage at Madison Square Garden this week with its handler, Luke Ehricht, of Monclova. The judge picked Comet as winner of the Toy Group over 25 other dogs.

Comet was also one of the finalists for Best in Show.

According to the American Kennel Club, Comet won Best in Show at the 2023 American Kennel Club National Championship.
