Local dog trainer’s books fetch spots on U.S. News’ list of 8 best dog books

Two books written by author Pat Miller, a Washington County dog trainer and behavior consultant, are listed on U.S. News’ recently released list of the Top 8 Dog Training Books for Dog Owners.

Miller’s books that made the list:

  • Do-Over Dogs; Give Your Dog a Second Chance for a First Class Life — focuses on helping owners help their newly-adopted shelter or rescue dog succeed in their new home.

Miller is a certified behavior consultant, canine (CBCC) and a certified professional dog trainer (CPDT) with the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers.

She operates her dog training and behavior center, Peaceable Paws in Fairplay, where she offers group classes, private training and behavior consultations, workshops and dog trainer academies that draw trainers from around the world.

She has written eight books. The Power of Positive Dog Training was her first, Do-Over Dogs was her fourth.
