Levy County Animal Control seizes 24 dogs due to poor conditions

TRENTON, Fla. (WCJB) – Levy County Sheriff’s deputies seized 24 dogs Wednesday afternoon from a home due to poor conditions.

Deputies say discovered the dogs in poor conditions when they responded to a home on Northeast 110th Avenue due to a domestic incident. The home is east of Chiefland and south of Trenton.

The owner refused to surrender the dogs, so deputies got a court order.

Levy County Animal Control says they now have a total of 49 dogs and nine puppies at the shelter.

Sheriff’s deputies say charges are forthcoming.
