SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – It’s been almost five months since two of Deseree Vaughn’s dogs went missing. She considers them family after all they’ve gone through with them.
Xena was the only survivor of her litter after they all got Parvo.
Deseree tells us, “I sat up with dog, day and night. Nurtured her, helped her, nursed her back to health. Miraculously she lived so she’s my baby.”
Her husband put as much time and love into saving Radar.
Deseree says, “he found him on the side of the road one day. I guess he’d been dumped. He was very emaciated. He helped him get back to a good, healthy weight. They’re both just wonderful, great dogs.”
That’s why their disappearance remains a painful mystery. They vanished from a backyard shed near National and Division in Springfield, the day after Thanksgiving.
“My only thought was, someone knew they were in there. We’ve talked to neighbors, talked to ones further down the block. We’ve rode around everywhere.”
Yet, Deseree hasn’t received one credible sighting or clue.
She tells us, “we just haven’t been able to have any sightings or anything so I really do feel like someone has them.”
If that’s the case, Deseree says they just want Xena and Radar back, no questions asked and no trouble.
“If someone has them, please know they have a home and we just want them back.”
If you see them or know anything, you can contact Deseree at 417-693-4880.
