Lawton to consider banning pit bull dogs

LAWTON, Okla. (KAUZ) – After a string of incidents and dogs captured by the City of Lawton, the city is considering a ban on American Staffordshire terriers, or pit bulls.

A city prosecutor will give a presentation to the Lawton City Council about the issue. There are reportedly three active investigations involving 29 total pit bulls.

A city animal welfare staff had to undergo surgery on their hand after capturing one of the dogs. One investigation revealed a “puppy mill” operation, with the dogs being bred for the purpose of dog fighting.

The claimed increase in attacks has been attributed to a variety of reasons, included poor fencing, lack of supervision and lack of discipline from owners.

Those factors have led the city to consider a full ban on the breed within city limits as one of its top potential solutions to the problem.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
