A woman has shown the reality of trying to sleep with an exceptionally clingy dog, as a night-time camera picked it all up.
Rocky the Australian shepherd lives in France with his owner, and is the epitome of a “lap dog,” wanting to be near her at all times.
His dedicated TikTok account is even titled @rockypasderepit—or “Rocky, no respite.”
Now his owner has shown exactly what life with Rocky is like, as she set up a camera by her bed to capture the pup’s night-time movement.
As she put it in a caption, translated from French: “He sits right on my head.”
In the video, posted on April 28 and already boasting more than 1.4 million views, the woman appears fast asleep under blankets, and Rocky approaches the bed.
He then climbs up on top of her, first lying across her chest, then moving so he’s lying across her head—until she, appearing to be struggling to breathe, pushes her head off the pillows.
Rocky’s adventure continues, as he walks back and forth on top of her, and a montage shows him lying in multiple different areas across the night—but always on top of his owner.
Finally, the video ends with the two appearing to have settled down properly—and both of them are sharing the same pillow.
Many pet owners choose to sleep in bed with their dog, as they believe it provides comfort and security, eases loneliness, and could potentially heighten immunity, according to the Sleep Foundation.
There are potential downsides too, however, including sleep disruptions as the animal may wake up or move around throughout the night.

Rocky’s owner went viral for showing what a regular night with her clingy dog looks like.

TikTok users loved the clip, awarding it more than 155,000 likes, as one joked: “He knows he’s a dog right? This is absolute cat behavior.”
Another defended Rocky: “If there’s a problem you can sleep on the floor.”
And plenty shared their own pet stories, one writing: “I woke up to find I was my shepherd’s big spoon last week. Still unsure how she managed it without waking me up.”
“I slept with my husky in the bed once,” another recalled. “The midnight zoomies, head paws, howls, awooos, and nose nibbles killed me for days after.”
