Knoxville police investigating animal cruelty case after officers find dog dead

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department and Young-Williams Animal Center are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a possible animal cruelty case.

Around 7 a.m. Monday, KPD Communications Manager Scott Erland said, officers responded to the parking lot of 809 E. Emerald Ave. There, he said, the officers found two terrier mixes that had been abandoned.

“One of the dogs was found deceased with a bag tied over its head,” Erland said. “The other dog was alive and did not have any visible injuries, though a second bag like the one found tied over the head of the deceased dog was found on the property.”

Officers canvassed the area, Erland said, but were not able to track down the dogs’ owner. Those with information are being asked to call East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers anonymously at 865-215-7165.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
