Kmart Australia shoppers reluctant to fork out hundreds of dollars on a designer handbag have discovered a $22 ‘dupe’ of a $650 luxury tote bag.
Fashion blogger, known as Kmart Insider, has found what she believes to be an affordable alternative of Tory Burch’s Ever-Ready handbag.
‘A designer looking tote without the splurge?! It’s a hard YES,’ the blogger said.
The purse-friendly printed style features a detachable coin bag, carry handles, a snap button closure, a main compartment and a zippered pocket.
The brown mono handbag is made from synthetic plastic.
The blogger also pointed out the $22 item is a great option for those who can’t afford a Louis Vuitton handbag, which can cost upwards of $3,000.
Many were impressed by her comparisons of Kmart and Tory Burch’s handbags – with one saying: ‘I literally spotted the Kmart bag today… Might have to go back for it.’
Another said: ‘Ohh wow… this is so cool.’
Meanwhile, those who own an expensive Louis Vuitton handbag admitted they can never fully enjoy it because they’re afraid of damaging it.
‘To be honest, I have an LV bag that’s like new because I hardly use it. It’s just sitting there in its cloth cover. Meanwhile my go-to daily bag is a Kmart one,’ one said.
Last month, Kmart shoppers were obsessing over a $10 item that looked almost identical to a $200 pair of Birkenstock sandals.
Bargain hunters said the Kmart sandals were an affordable alternative to the pricey brand’s classic Arizona with gold buckles.
The cheaper slides have been flying off the shelves across Australia – with fans claiming they are ‘better than Birks’ – especially given their extremely low price.
Both designs of the shoes appear similar – but despite the huge price difference, there are many key features the Kmart version doesn’t have.
Birkenstock is widely known for its high-quality, sturdily constructed and long-lasting sandals that provide unparalleled comfort and support due to its contoured footbed.
The shoes are made from a mixture of natural cork, latex and real leather.
The budget-friendly slip-on slides have received a near-perfect rating – with an average of 4.7 stars out of 5.
Many claim the sandals are surprisingly comfortable – and it’s a ‘great alternative’ for those who can’t afford the pricier version.
‘I love these, super comfy but still look good with most types of clothes. They run a tiny tad small I think so keep that in mind,’ one said.
‘Comfy sandal and colour goes with most outfits. Looks very similar to Birkenstock sandals,’ another raved.
‘This looks very similar to the original Birkenstock. It is very comfortable and I wear it everywhere. It’s amazing and looks beautiful too,’ one added.
