Kimberly Dogs sweep doubleheader, advance to 6-0 on the summer

KIMBERLY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Kimberly Dogs continue to dominate at the start of summer.

Kimberly (6-0) hosted the TF Hawks (1-3) on Monday and took both doubleheader games, winning 11-8 and 17-5 in Legion ball.

Game one: Kimberly 11, TF 8

  • MaCraye Bruning opened up the game with a three-run triple in the first inning to get things started for the Dogs. He finished with a team-high four RBIs. Ethan Maikranz was 2-4 with three RBIs. Brodee Thomson and Dre Mora had two RBIs apiece for the Hawks.

Game two: Kimberly 17, TF 5

  • The Dogs won in five innings with a run-rule victory. Kimberly scored eight runs in the first inning with hits from Gunner Stringham, Bruning, Cash Gardner, and Jeremiah Bybee. Gardner and Bybee led with three RBIs each in the win while Parker and Gunnar Stringham had two each.
