MANITOWOC – The Manitowoc Public Library will give kids a chance to read to certified therapy dogs this week.

Families can register for one 15-minute one-on-one session with a therapy dog at the library between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15. Advance registration is required as availability is limited.

Registration can be done by calling 920-686-3030 or visiting the Youth Services Department at the library, 707 Quay St. Kids younger than 8 must be always accompanied by an adult in the library.

Studies show reading to animals can help kids boost their confidence and improve overall reading.

Here’s a look at other things coming up at the library this week. Find more at manitowoclibrary.org or call 920-686-3000.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
