Kentucky State Police search cemetery using cadaver dogs for missing 8-month-old

The search for a missing Kentucky 8-month-old continued on Tuesday, with Kentucky State Police employing K9 cadaver dogs to help.KSP sent out a notice on June 6 that Miya Tucker Rudd had gone missing.Police say that they believe her parents, Cage Rudd and Tesla Tucker, were the last ones taking care of her before she went missing.KSP later conducted a welfare check at the parents’ house, but couldn’t find the infant.On Tuesday, KSP said it searched for Miya at a cemetery in Reynolds Station, Kentucky.KSP Trooper Corey King said at this point, because of the lack of evidence, they don’t have a reason to believe she is dead.However, they did have K9 cadaver dogs assisting with the search. King said they were unable to find any substantial leads, and they plan to bring in more dogs and search equipment to continue the investigation this week. Since Miya was reported missing, both Cage and Tesla have been arrested, along with Miya’s grandfather and grandmother, Ricky and Billie Smith. Cage and Tesla are facing charges for drugs and abandonment of a minor, while the grandparents are facing drug trafficking and child abuse charges.Another man, Timothy Roach, was also arrested after police say he was seen throwing suboxone under his car in Billie Smith’s driveway. He’s facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and prescription substance not in a proper container.Police have not said what Roach’s connection to the family is at this time.Kentucky State Police is asking anyone with information regarding the missing child to contact 270-826-3312.
