The Princess of Wales made a heartfelt visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on Tuesday, where she had previously received cancer treatment.
Kate, effortlessly stylish in a bespoke Blaze Milano coat and Russell & Bromley pumps, earned widespread praise for her warm and compassionate interactions with current patients.
Reflecting her commitment to the Royal Family, she carried a handbag with deep ties to the monarchy.
The impeccably designed Asprey ‘Morgan’ bag combines timeless elegance with contemporary style. Priced at £2,995, it’s aimed towards those who value both luxury and practicality.
Asprey’s connection to British royalty dates back to the 1800s, when Queen Victoria awarded the brand its first royal warrant.
The company also runs a philanthropy programme that supports various charities, which is likely another aspect that appeals to Kate.
Her appearance marked another success for the brand. ‘Asprey is incredibly honoured that the Princess of Wales wore the Morgan leather handbag on her outing to the Royal Marsden Hospital,’ Bobby Gill, director of VIP sales, told MailOnline.
‘She’s a loyal supporter of British brands and in the case of Asprey embodies the future of that special historical tie that the brand holds with the royal family.’
The ‘Morgan’ design boasts a sleek silhouette, expertly crafted from soft grain leather with a sumptuous suede interior, providing enough space to hold essentials.
‘It effortlessly transitions from day to evening, making it an ideal companion for any occasion,’ Mr Gill proudly said.
Kate owns an earlier version of the bag, which remains available for purchase in-store. The updated version, offered both online and in-store, features a chain shoulder strap instead of the royal’s preferred top-handle style.
‘Every element is thoughtfully designed to merge style with functionality, reflecting the brand’s heritage and attention to detail,’ Mr Gill continued.
The Princess has been a long-time admirer of Asprey’s jewellery and leather collections, having showcased five pairs of earrings, two necklaces and, now, two bags.
However, the brand’s ties to royalty stretch much further back, to 1862, when Queen Victoria granted the company a royal warrant for dressing cases, travelling bags and writing cases.
Since then, Asprey has held a royal warrant from every British monarch, including Queen Elizabeth II, along with several foreign heads of state.
In 1925, Queen Mary commissioned a five-strand pearl necklace, which was later gifted to Princess Margaret on her 18th birthday.
During the fourth year of his reign, King George VI became the first British monarch to grant Asprey a royal warrant as jewellers and silversmiths.
Queen Elizabeth II renewed these warrants, extending them to include goldsmiths.
Although Asprey originally specialised in silk scarves, the brand expanded into luggage and dressing cases in response to the rise of rail travel for the wealthy class in the early 1800s.
Now renowned for its exquisite jewellery, Asprey’s vintage and contemporary collections continue to be favoured by royalty, as seen in the Maple Leaf Brooch.
King George VI gifted the brooch to his wife, Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother) in 1939, ahead of their royal tour of Canada.
It was inherited by Queen Elizabeth II, who wore it frequently during trips to Canada and for events in Britain connected to the country.
Following in her mother’s footsteps, the Queen loaned the brooch to Kate, who wore it on several visits to Canada in 2011 and 2016.
