Joybound People & Pets in Walnut Creek has taken 10 of more than 60 dogs recently seized from a hoarding situation in Stockton.
The animal rescue group said Wednesday in a statement the dogs were removed from “heartbreaking conditions” earlier this week in which they were “neglected, confined, and in desperate need of care.”
“Understanding how challenging hoarding cases can be for local agencies, Joybound People & Pets proactively reached out to Stockton Animal Services and offered support,” the group said.
Many of the dogs Joybound recovered Tuesday are Yorkshire terrier, poodle, and Chihuahua mixes.
Each dog received a thorough veterinary exam, necessary medical treatment, and “compassionate attention to begin the healing process,” the group said.
The group said the dogs will soon be available for adoption. Find out more at https://joybound.org.
