Three dogs are back on dry land after being rescued from an island along the Ohio River on Thursday.The Jeffersonville Fire Department said it was notified about three dogs stranded on Six Mile Island. This is near Utica Pike in east Jeffersonville.Members of the JFD water rescue team were assisted by Jeffersonville Animal Control in rescuing the dogs and getting them back to the mainland.The dogs are now being held at the shelter.Officials did not say how the dogs got over to the island.
