A dog in Iowa now holds the record for the tallest dog in the world! I love dogs of all sizes but big dogs always get me because most of the time they’re just big couch potatoes. ‘Gentle giants’, as people like to call them. And this Iowa dog is no different.

Tallest Dog in the World
Based on the rankings from Daily Paws, you’d probably assume that the tallest dog in the world would be an Irish Wolfhound. But that’s not the case.
The Iowa dog that now holds the record for tallest dog in the world is actually a Great Dane!
Kevin stands at 3 feet, 2 inches (36 inches) from feet to withers, which is at the base of their neck.
Kevin isn’t the tallest dog ever, though. UPI writes that the most recent record holder, Zeus, who sadly passed away last year, was taller, at 3 feet, 5.18 inches
Minnesota’s Tallest Dog?
Speaking of super tall dogs, a co-worker of mine has a Great Dane of his own who’s actually just a couple of inches shy of Kevin. He very easily could be the tallest dog in Minnesota.
His name is Moose, you can find him on social media with #minnesotamoose or on YouTube at ‘DANE RiGHT!’.
He’s a gentle giant so if you ever see him out and about in the Rochester area, don’t be afraid to say hello, he loves meeting new people!
Do you think Great Danes are one of the most popular dog breeds in America? Let’s find out!
