
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) -A Lexington man was charged after investigators said five dogs were left inside his home without food or water.
Three of the dogs were found dead, according to investigators.
Officers with Lexington County Animal Services arrested Robert John Jachim, 40, Tuesday after the dogs were found inside his home on Corley Street, a news release from Lexington County said.
Jachim told investigators he left his home earlier this month on July 2 and did not return.
Four of the dogs were found inside wire crates, two of which had died. The news release said another small dog was found dead inside a bedroom.
The two dogs who were found alive were transferred to a rescue shelter for care.
He was was charged with five counts of ill treatment of animals and booked in the Lexington County Detention Center and granted $5,000 bond.
