
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — An incident report has been released by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office regarding an investigation into seven dogs being shot and killed.
Officials received an animal cruelty call on Feb. 23 in the area of Gapway Drive in the city of Georgetown.
According to the report, the victim stated that she had been having issues with her ex-landlord since June 2024. The victim stated that she believes he came into her encampment and executed seven pit bulls that were chained and secured on the property, according to the report.

The report states that all of the dogs had a single gunshot wound to the top of the head.
A witness stated that she checked on the animals earlier on Feb. 23 and they were all happy and healthy showing no signs of distress.
According to the report, there have been numerous threats made to police by the person of interest in the incident, saying things like “If you don’t do anything, I’m going to take care of those dogs myself.”
The incident is still under investigation at this time.
