A senior dog’s unconventional version of zoomies at the ripe old age of 17 years has melted hearts online.
TikTok user Anna (@annas3927) from Minneapolis, Minnesota, shared an adorable clip of her 17-year-old dog, Lola, leaping around with joy after returning from a walk. Age is clearly no obstacle for Lola, as she hopped and jumped around in circles with sheer excitement.
After seeing how delighted the dog appeared, Anna couldn’t resist giving her a treat as a reward.
The caption layered over the footage explained that this was Lola’s attempt to “get the zoomies after being outside.” Although given her senior age, the supposed zoomies were at a far more reasonable pace instead.

The sweet clip has delighted internet users, who can’t get enough of Lola’s excitement. In just a matter of days, the video has gone viral online, leading to more than 2.4 million views and over 519,400 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
Newsweek has contacted @annas3927 via TikTok for comment. We could not verify the details of the video.
While Lola was attempting to run around the house, her owner can be heard cheering her on. During the video, Anna exclaims, “you’re out of your mind” and “you’re being too crazy.”
This is certainly a common occurrence for Lola, as Anna frequently shares adorable clips of her leaping around on TikTok.
After all, age is just a number.
It can be heartbreaking for owners to realize their dog is no longer the young pup who chases their tail, but rather a mature dog in their twilight years. The telltale signs can include slowing down or going gray, but there are many other changes to be on the lookout for.
The American Kennel Club (AKC) highlights that their eyes may go cloudy, they may have difficulty seeing, bad breath, weakness in their back legs, weight changes, and new lumps appearing.
There can also be behavioral changes that occur when a dog gets older too. Just like people, they often become grumpy or have less energy, preferring to sleep most of the day instead. Indeed, older dogs do require more rest, as the AKC suggests, so they should be left to sleep soundly.
Aging is a natural process of course, but owners can check in with their vet to see if there’s anything they can do to help their dog. There could be medical treatments to address the changes, dietary changes, or ways to ease the dog’s discomfort.
Since the video showing how much Lola “loves coming inside and getting a treat” went viral, internet users have become obsessed with her cute happy dance. This has led to more than 2,700 comments on the TikTok post so far.
One comment reads: “She jumps like she’s got another 17 years in her.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “Look at air she’s catching! Those are some elevated skedaddles!”
Another person replied: “She was a 75-year-old jazzercise instructor in a past life. We love a fitness queen.”
While one commenter added: “Golden years zoomies, I live for these.”
