(ELWOOD, Ks.) The first Dogs-For-Dogs event took place at First Option Bank in Elwood on May 31, bringing deeper community involvement and support for the Doniphan County Pet Rescue.
This event featured many dog-themed vendors, to which area residents were invited to bring their dogs for the fun.
The idea was brought about by First Option Bank, which wanted to show its commitment to the Doniphan County, Kansas, community.
“We are trying to do more with the community here in Donovan County, and we just thought we would, you know, that’s just who came to mind because all of the people are all my employees at this location, love dogs,” said Stacy Stevens, Vice President of First Option Bank in Elwood. “We’re trying to do what we can for the animals. I think it’s great that the community is coming together to help support everyone.”
Donations were also encouraged through raffle tickets for numerous gift bags from local businesses, veterinarians, and groups, along with two grand raffle prizes, which included a doggie summer fun bundle and a doghouse.
