Milo and Mila are uncomfortable within the shelter. Idaho Humane Society said they just want to learn more about the dogs to help make their lives better.
BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Humane Society (IHS) is seeking the owner of two abandoned dogs on their property.
On Thursday, April 10, around 7:40 a.m., two dogs were left outside of the local animal shelter. Idaho Humane Society was able to capture security camera footage of the person who dropped off the dogs, and needs help identifying them.
The goal of reaching out is to gather any information they can about the dogs, which will hopefully improve their lives.
IHS said that the dogs are very stressed, acting reactively to staff members. Having any history about the dogs would assist in making them feel more comfortable at the shelter.
In a Facebook post, IHS pleaded with the public that they would not judge the dogs’ owners but just wanted to help the dogs.
“If you are the person who abandoned these dogs, or if anyone knows who the dogs may belong to, please message us on social media, or contact Animal Control by email at aco@idahohumanesociety.org or phone (208) 343-3166,” said the Facebook post.

Facebook also adds that the collars on the dogs read Milo for the short-haired male dog and Mali for the long-haired female dog.
The dogs are not microchipped, and there was no phone number attached to the animals, IHS said.

The Idaho code states that “abandoning” a dog or other animal is leaving it without making proper arrangements. IHS recommends scheduling an appointment if you are unable to care for your animal and need to find it a new home.
If you are in a situation in which you may need to surrender your animal, you can find more information about that from the Idaho Humane Society at this link here.
