Glen Kohl left his pup tied up on a leash outside the store for a few minutes, but when he returned, his dog was gone.
SEATTLE — A routine trip to the grocery store turned into a nightmare for Glen Kohl and his dog, Yofi.
Kohl walked across the street to Whole Foods on Westlake Avenue and tied up Yofi outside the store while he ran inside to grab a few things. When he came outside, Yofi was gone.
“I was in shock and couldn’t believe it. I mean, we love our Yofi. He’s 14 and a half. Does not move that great,” Kohl said.
Kohl believes someone took his dog.
“It was very clear that this was where it was,” Kohl said, gesturing to the post where he tied up Yofi momentarily. “I mean, there’s no way he got out. And it’s not like he’d be wandering or barking. He’s very patient.”
Kohl asked people around him if they had seen what happened and no one came forward with information to help him.
“It took me a while, and then a wave of grief came, and I started blaming myself,” Kohl said.

Kohl blamed himself for leaving Yofi outside for a few minutes.
“Hopefully, we’ll find him,” Kohl’s said. “That’s what matters most.”
Kohl and his wife, Julie, have had Yofi since he was a puppy. They want their dog home, no questions asked.
“This is what the posters look like,” Julie Kohl said. “He may not respond to his name right away because he doesn’t hear as well as he once did. We really miss him. He’s a sweet, sweet dog, and we’re very happy to pay a generous reward.”
