I Drive By. You Yell. My Dog Cries. Let’s Talk, Maine Construction Crew

Before I tell you this quick story, I have to give you a disclaimer. This blog is more of a fun tease rather than trying to start an argument, okay? Okay let’s get this thing going.

I’m lucky enough to have a dog friendly office that allows me to bring my obnoxiously adorable goldendoodle to work with me. His favorite part of going to work with mom is actually the drive in and the drive home so we embrace it every time.

Maine Construction Season

Here’s where the problem comes in. Portland is officially in construction season which means there are humans in the middle of the road in what feels like everywhere, right?

Well on the road near my house there’s construction happening. Much like all over Maine at the moment, but something weird keeps happening with this one dude whose working on the job site.

Everytime we drive by and my dingo doodle’s fluffy head is hanging out the window, the same man yells loud noises into my dogs face. We’ll stop at the stop sign in the same place every single day and like clockwork this man will scream at Maverick all sorts of irritating sounds that wind him up. Then I’m stuck with the anxiety.

So whoever you are, and if this ever reaches you, just stop yelling at my poor dude in the back seat. While you may think you’re just saying hello to him, you’re really just upsetting him. A “hi doggy” would be sufficient here lol.
