A video of a pup that’s “obsessed” with pilates has melted the hearts of dog lovers on TikTok.
The clip was shared by @izzabellahilll and has amassed over 884,000 views since it was posted on April 9. The footage shows people using reformer machines in a gym class setting.
Text overlaid on the clip says: “POV [point of view] your dog is obsessed with reformer Pilates.”
The video shows a pup laying on a sliding exercise machine as his owner carries on with her workout.
The dog owner told Newsweek that “this was his first time,” but a caption shared with the post notes that “he was pilates prince in his last life.”
The canine’s apparent need to stay close to the poster even during her workout is unsurprising because the unique relationship between adult dogs and their owners “bears a remarkable resemblance to an infant attachment bond,” noted a May 2013 study in PLOS One.
“Dogs are dependent on human care and their behavior seems specifically geared to engage their owners’ care-giving system,” the study found.
‘The Most Adorable Thing’
Viewers on TikTok adored the canine pilates enthusiast in the viral clip.
Marina_DoubleYou said the dog is “just a long for the ride.”
User millielou said “he’s so happy there” and the original poster replied “just happy to be included.”
Gemma Blake noted: “I too would be obsessed with Pilates if this is what it takes.”
User maddiebrown975 noted the pup is “exercising his little heart out” and stylismepargabrielle said “your dog is more in shape than me.”
Jane Katherine wrote “Omg need this in every class” and ari simply said “this is the most adorable thing.”
Peyton Kirke said, “He’s a Pilates pup” and althall wrote, “Must make my pupper a pilates princess.”
Taylor Gold said, “This is my dream,,” and Skye wrote,e “This would heal my soul.”
Ana Moreira said: “The way I would attend that class just to stare at your dog the entire time.”
Sheida noted: “My instructor brings her little dog to the class every session and believe me it’s one of the reasons I don’t skip sessions. he’s so cute and he lays on my side when I workout.”
