Hysterics as dog gets cat brother, instantly loses all personal space

Internet users can’t cope with a cat who behaves just like his dog sister and wants to be around her all the time—leaving her with zero personal space in return.

The adorable video was posted on the dog’s dedicated TikTok account (@mikostorm_) showing the inseparable duo doing everything from napping together, playing in the garden, and even going on walks.

While the cat, named Stormy, appears to love copying Mika the dog and following her around, Mika didn’t look too impressed about it. During the clip, she can be seen staring towards the camera and looking quite uncertain about the feline who seems to copy her every move.

The video showing “the brother Mika didn’t want but got anyway” was shared on TikTok in April, and internet users can’t get enough. It has since gone viral and amassed more than 909,800 views and over 184,900 likes at the time of writing.

In many situations, it’s dogs who love affection while the family cat prefers to have their own space. But that isn’t to say the roles can’t be reversed, as felines can often be affectionate to the family members they’re bonded to.

The website PetMD highlights that past experiences can help cats learn that being close to their human or another pet, being petted, and getting a treat can all bring them pleasure.

Cats typically show affection by arching their back against you, meowing, purring, following you around, or sleeping near you at night. The clingiest types of cats are usually Siamese, Balinese, Tonkinese, Persians and Ragdolls, according to PetMD.

Since becoming a sister, Mika certainly seems to have lost all semblance of personal space. Indeed, Stormy has become her feline-shaped shadow, following her and copying everything she does.

What makes their friendship even sweeter is their similar markings as Mika and Stormy both have black fur with white patches over their body.

They may not be genetically related, but they certainly look and act just like the cutest siblings.

Since the video of their antics went viral, TikTok users can’t get enough of their unconventional friendship. This has led to more than 290 comments on the video so far, as social media users lauded the cat’s need to be around Mika at all times—whether the dog likes it or not.

One comment on the post reads: “Of course a tuxedo cat would be the one to be like that!”

Another TikTok user wrote: “Obviously they are blood relatives.”

Another person added: “I’ve never seen the cat love the dog more.”

While one commenter joked: “they came from the same litter, and you can’t convince me otherwise!”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
