‘Huskies 2.0’: Neighborhood on alert after multiple reports of wolf-dog attacks

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA/CNN/CNN Newsource/WKRC) – A neighborhood is on alert after multiple reports of wolf-dog attacks.

Goretti Deanda is mourning the loss of her three-year-old Malti-poo, Chloe, who was attacked and killed by a pack of wolf-dog hybrids in South Natomas.

“She’s a little sweetheart. Like my daughter,” Deanda told KCRA. “They came out of nowhere and they just started attacking Chloe. She tried to fight, you know, to get her away, but it was they were big and three of them. So it was kind of tough.”

The attack occurred at John Strauch Park during Chloe’s daily walk with Deanda’s mother. Deanda described the animals as resembling “huskies, but they were like huskies 2.0 or something. Like they were just huge.”

Animal control officials have identified the animals as wolf-dog hybrid mixes. Initially, five were reported, but only one remains at large.

“I just hope animal control gets all of them. And, you know, hopefully they find owners,” Deanda told KCRA.

Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes issued a warning to residents after receiving nearly a dozen reports of sightings.

“They were scared to go outside or they were scared to go on walks with their pets,” Talamantes told the outlet. The sightings began about a week ago in areas like Discovery Park and South Natomas. Animal control officials confirmed that at least two dogs have been attacked by these wolf-dogs.

“We decided to really just escalate it and get all like the community all hands on deck to be able to report the sightings,” Talamantes said when speaking to KCRA’s reporters.

As the search for the remaining wolf-dog continues, Talamantes urges residents to report any sightings immediately.

“We need everybody to send us the location as soon as they see them. You know, they move quickly,” she told the station.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
