WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — Hundreds of gentle giants flooded the Crowne Plaza in Warwick Friday afternoon for the Newfoundland Club of America National Specialty.
The NCA National Specialty is the premier showcase for the Newfoundland in the United States.
The week-long event featured different trial events, classes and forums.
Nelly, a 5-month-old puppy, attended the event for the first time.
“We bring them when they’re young to see if they like it” said her owner.
While the main events concluded, owners took every opportunity to practice with their dogs.
Events are scheduled to end on Saturday, May 3, with an awards banquet.
The trials and outdoor events are free to the public.
